Do all Sartorial Travellers Club Experiences Involve Sartorial Dressing?

Not at all. While style and elegance are central to the Sartorial Travellers Club ethos, each journey is designed to be appropriate to its setting and purpose.

For many of our cultural and lifestyle experiences — such as classical concerts, operas, ballets, cocktail evenings, and grand European journeys — dressing beautifully is very much part of the pleasure. These occasions invite refinement, individuality, and the joy of sartorial expression.<pP

However, for our expedition-led journeys, particularly those to the world’s most remote frontiers, function takes precedence. On experiences such as our South Pole expedition, guests dress for the environment and conditions — prioritising warmth, performance, and safety. Technical expedition wear replaces tailoring, without diminishing the sense of occasion or achievement.<p>

In every case, our philosophy remains the same: dress appropriately, thoughtfully, and with respect for the experience at hand. Whether in polar gear at the end of the Earth or evening wear in a grand opera house, each journey has its own rhythm — and its own form of elegance.

What to Expect

From the moment you arrive, you can expect a warm welcome and thoughtfully curated touches throughout your journey. Experiences often begin with welcoming cocktails, followed by beautifully themed dinners and social occasions designed to bring the group together.

 

Every element — from venues and timings to transport and reservations — is meticulously organised, allowing you to relax, immerse yourself in the experience, and enjoy each moment without distraction.. 

Group Size & Guest Composition

Sartorial Travellers Club journeys are intentionally small, creating an intimate and relaxed travel experience. Group sizes are typically no more than 10 guests, allowing for ease of movement, personalised attention, and meaningful connection.

 

Some tours or activities operate as guaranteed departures, regardless of group size, while others require a minimum number of guests before being confirmed. In all cases, we are transparent about departure status and keep you fully informed throughout the booking process.

 

Our guests typically range from their 50s through to the early 80s. While age is never a defining factor, our journeys are thoughtfully designed to suit travellers who value comfort, culture, and a relaxed pace, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all who join us.

Accommodation & Dining

Accommodation is carefully selected and typically 4–5 star, chosen for comfort, quality, and central locations that allow you to experience each destination with ease.

On land-based journeys, solo travellers generally enjoy their own room at no additional cost, reflecting our commitment to equitable and thoughtful travel.

Dining is a standout feature of Sartorial Travellers Club experiences — from celebrated restaurants to bespoke meals and memorable settings, culinary experiences are an integral part of the journey and an area in which we truly excel..

Dress Code & Style Guidance

Sartorial Travellers Club journeys often feature themed evenings and special occasions, with style guidance provided prior to departure so you can prepare with ease.

 

On cruise-based journeys, there are typically at least two formal evenings, including black tie and white tie events.

 

While dressing with intention is part of the fun, there is no obligation — guests who prefer a more relaxed approach are always warmly welcome. The emphasis is on enjoyment, confidence, and feeling comfortable in your own style.

What’s Included

 

Sartorial Travellers Club journeys are designed to be as inclusive and seamless as possible. Inclusions typically cover airport transfers, welcoming cocktails, daily breakfasts, and a curated selection of dinners and lunches, along with planned sightseeing and experiences.

 

On cruise-based journeys, tipping and port charges are included, as well as Wi-Fi and a standard drinks package, allowing you to relax and enjoy the journey with ease. We endeavour to include almost everything; however, on some sightseeing days lunch may be at your own cost, as are morning and afternoon teas, giving you the freedom to choose as you please.

Our guests are drawn to iconic destinations and cultural highlights often found on a travel bucket list, and appreciate comfort, style, and seamless organisation. Whether travelling independently or together, travellers enjoy the company of like-minded guests and the pleasure of exploring extraordinary places in an intimate, well-curated setting.

Bookings & Cancellations

For journeys that require a minimum number of guests to proceed, no deposit is requested until the tour is confirmed. Once confirmed, cancellations and changes are subject to Travel With Lesley Whyte’s Terms & Conditions. As arrangements are secured well in advance, deposits are non-refundable, and cancellation fees may apply depending on timing and supplier requirements.

 

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all Sartorial Travellers Club journeys and is essential to protect against unforeseen changes. Full details are provided prior to booking, and we are always available to discuss any questions before you confirm your place
